This rock was collected from West Texas and soaked in water as a pre-cleaning. It was then scrubbed of dirt and as left in a bleach bath to ensure cleanliness before being scrubbed again. The color of the rock might differ from the picture on the screen due to lighting differences and screen settings. The color will darken when wet. We recommend that you use your own cleaning method when you receive your rock to make you feel comfortable adding it to your aquarium.

Texas Holey rocks are often used in fish tanks that include Cichlids, as the fish adore the caves and holes and the rock itself naturally raises and buffers the PH of the water, making it similar to the African Cichlid’s natural range. The amount that the rock changes PH is variable by rock and aquarium size, as well as the water quality. Even small holes that fish can’t fit into are desired, as they provide surface area for beneficial bacteria the thrive.
