$ 105.59

Availability: 100 in stock
  • Condition: Although there are 5 available, the list price is for 1 pair (2 shutters). If you are planning on buying less than 5 pairs, please read the description, look at the photos, and email us after the auction to let us know which shutter(s) you'd like.* If you need a 6th pair, we have 3 unmatched singles available (see last 6 photos), and we could modify one to pair-up with one of the other two singles. Salvaged from the former home of Fred Woolworth in Monmouth Maine. Each is made of solid pine or Douglas Fir and is painted hunter green on both sides. All of the shutters are strong and sturdy, and great condition. There is a thin slice of wood that broke off of one of the bottom corners of Pair#2 (see photo). Otherwise, the shutters have nicks, scratches, small nail holes, and peeling paint--minor cosmetic blemishes, which would be sanded out and/or covered once painted. However, there are no breaks, serious cracks, rot, warp, or any other structural issues.34"x 61 3/4" (60 3/4" not in. g

    Lovely, vintage shutters
    salvaged from the former home of Fred Woolworth in  Monmouth Maine. If you're unfamiliar with the name, "Woolworth," their family  began one of the largest retail stores in the world: "Woolworths." Originally,  their stores were "five(cent)-and-dime" stores (the early 99-cent or discount  stores), but now, they focus on sporting goods, and own and operate,  "Footlocker."
    The huge home built on the family's 2,000 acre  estate was built in 1952 and these were original to the home's construction.  Each is made of solid pine or Douglas Fir and is painted hunter green on both  sides.
    If you don't want to use these as pairs, just be  aware that each shutter has one rabbeted or stepped edge, which allows it to  interlock with its mate-shutter. You could leave these edges on or cut them off.  If you cut them off, the shutters will be 1/4" narrower (16
    7/8
    "W).
