~ Vintage Hand Wrought Pendant Pin Combo + Added Contemporary Sterling Chain
~ Pendant/Pin: Pre-Columbian Aztec Sun Calendar Design bordered by Jaguars; Lapis Gemstone Inlay; Ample Bail & secure Safety Clasp; Stamp: TM-134 or 184 (Taxco registration mark), MEX 925
~ The Pendant center depicts the Aztec Sun Stone (aka the Calendar Stone) which is a representation of the five consecutive worlds of the sun from Aztec mythology.
*The original stone (last photo) was excavated at the Temple Mayor Pyramid in Tenochtitlan (now Mexico City) and weighs 25 tons.
~ All major Mesoamerican civilizations (Aztec, Maya,Inca) prominently featured Jaguars in their mythology. The jaguar is representative of power, authority, and valor, yet it also symbolizes fertility.
~ Box Chain: 925 Sterling with adjustable 16.75”-18.75” length; Excellent condition!
