You will receive 1 ounce of Casurina Cones in each pack.
Casurina Cones are a great alternative to the commonly found Alder Cone. Much like the commonly found cones in the hobby, these are still a great tannin producer. They break down at a slower rate, so you can enjoy the looks and benefits of these cones for much longer. Casurina cones will slow down tannin production way before they start to break down themselves, still providing a great surface for biofilm growth.
We recommend starting with 5 or less cones per 10 gallons of water. Adding botanicals to your aquarium too fast can cause issues, including pH swings as tannins do alter the pH of your water.
Slow boil your casurina cones for approximately 20 minutes and allow to cool in fresh, cold-room temperature water for a few hours before adding to your aquarium.
