Graziella Laffi (1923-2009), who was born in Florence, Italy and spent most of her working life in Peru. Inspired by pre-Columbian motifs, her work is often referred to as the “Spratling of Peru,” because experts believe that her designs rival the masterworks created in Mexico. While her work was highly sought after during her lifetime, they became even more desirable collectibles after her passing.
The Los Angeles County Museum of Art added a selection of Peruvian works by the artist Graziella Laffi and her work shares the LACMA stage with other artists including signature pieces by William Spratling, Los Castillo, Héctor Aguilar, and Margot van Voorhies among others.
