This Greece 100 Drachmae banknote is part of the third modern drachma series that was released in 1978. The banknote's front design depicts a bust of Athena, the Ancient Greek goddess of war. The reverse side of the note features a portrait of 18th-century Greek scholar Adamantios Korais. He was known for his contributions to Modern Greek literature and Greek Enlightenment. Alongside his portrait is the Monastery of Arkadi in the southeast of Rethymnon. The note is 157 x 67 mm in size and is equipped with a solid security thread to enhance its security features. A watermark image of Charioteer Polyzalos is also made visible under UV light.
