These were purchased at an industrial liquidation earlier this year, and they were new in the supplier boxes.  We packaged them in heavy Ziplok bags for resale.  These weigh about 2/3 of a pound, and have a molded plastic coil; unlike most of the cheap imported stuff that's flooding the market.  The label states "6 VDC INT" and I take that to mean they are
intermittent duty
.  Presumably, they will overheat and self-destruct if your power is left on continuously.  We are not experts on solenoid actuators, but it appears they have a usable stroke length of about 1" (25mm) or possibly a little more.  The rams look like stainless steel, but they obviously attract a magnet.  Could be some kind of ferrous stainless, or a corrosion resistant alloy perhaps.
