Vintage African, Mossi Indigo Dyed Scarf,Shawl/23”x54"+Fringe

Beautiful, vintage African, Mossi, Burkina Faso indigo dyed scarf/shawl with long, twisted blue and white fringe; 7 hand woven medium weight  cotton strips.
Mossi textiles are highly collectible, and loved,
due to the tight, fine and soft weavings using variations of blue color threads to create subtle lines/squares. They are  saved and worn by their owners and family members for many years. Over time, wash
ing, and use causes fading to various lighter shades of blue, showing more and more of a
“plaid" pattern. I will be listing different scarves that reflect different ages and colors, but this particular one has a wonderful deep indigo color to it, at the same time showing a subtle pattern from it

23” x 54”; Excellent condition: work has been washed and it is color fast; no major damage to the indigo.
This is the first group of smaller indigo scarves that I have received in all the time I have been buying indigo textiles. A perfect size for easy wearing!
