Vintage Signed "MARICELA" 925/Amethyst "Cut Out/Over Lay" TAXCO Brooch Eagle 3

Description

This is a absolutely gorgeous brooch,that comes from the Taxco,which was made at the time of the Mexican Silver Renaissance Days..Having historical beauty & charm,it was made by "Maricela",which was a fine company, that produced some outstanding pieces.
Made with a technique called a 'cut out/overlay",very similar to the type of work done by Hopi Natives,where you have a cut out design of
the higher polished silver,placed on a deep dark oxidized background,to accentuate the design.What was once the higher polished,now has a warm patina.. A 10.5 mm round cabochon of amethyst is placed,completing the piece.
This piece was made between 1948 & 1979 & my guess from my experience is,this may be from the 50's.Measures 1~1/2" x 1~1/2" & weighs 12.7 grams.The pin works perfectly & can be worn vertical (see pics 4.6.7) or horizontal(See pics 1.3) Having looked through my loupe,there are no cracks seen in the amethyst.There is a white~ish matrix on the side by the bezel,which is natural to the stone z7 not defective.Hallmarked "Hecho in Mexico,925,Tasco,Maricela,Sterling,Eagle  with 3 inside.
