    Description

Vintage Transom Window Rod Opener Mechanism RARE Hardware - Not made anymore except reproductions which are much more expensive than the original - restored. Required transom hardware for that special renovation you are doing. One for sale with this listing.
Transom rod assemblies consist of the long rod, a shorter rod attached near the top of the long rod and is about 8” +/-. This shorter rod attaches to the offset bracket that attaches to the window.
There are two intermediate attachment brackets (one near the top of the long rod and one below the shorter rod) to attach the assembly to the wood door frame. Thus, three point attachment.
Third attachment is the actual squeeze, push button or turn device that locks onto the long rod.
All of the items I list have all of these components.
    Squeeze locking mechanism
on the long rod for this item. May need a little TLC and a slight straightening to smooth it all out as about 95% of the paint removed. This one will clean up nicely.
No hardware/ screws included for attachment. Complete unit with all of the brackets for mounting and attaching to the door frame and window. I estimate 95%+ of the paint removed. You can finish it or leave as-is. One buyer said he uses spray lacquer to prevent rusting once cleaned.
Offset rod (the rod that is attached to the main long rod, but attaches to the 90 degree bracket on the transom window frame) is approximately 8" overall. The window attached  90 degree arm is approximately 2  1/2" x 2".  You provide the attachment hardware to your door frame and window. A great piece of history to add to your vintage home. And, on that note, the last of the pix show very early catalog pages from various sources, on transom mechanisms. Enjoy looking back.
    Thanks for looking!
